Megapixel Joins OpenAV Cloud to Drive Openness in Pro AV

Megapixel has joined OpenAV Cloud, a new industry initiative founded by Sony, Panasonic, Shure, BrightSign, Legrand | AV, and Xyte to promote openness and interoperability across the Pro AV ecosystem.

OpenAV Cloud launched earlier this year at InfoComm 2025 with the goal of creating shared best practices and cloud-based APIs that make it easier for integrators, consultants, and end users to bring together products from multiple manufacturers.

For Megapixel, the decision to join was straightforward. As LED processing continues to evolve and scale across a variety of applications, it’s important that our perspective is part of the conversation shaping how devices are controlled, monitored, and integrated into enterprise environments.

“Customers and consultants are asking for interoperability and transparency across systems,” said Niall Thompson, Director of Product. “OpenAV Cloud is a meaningful step toward that, and we want to make sure LED processing has a strong voice in where the industry goes next.”

By joining, Megapixel is committing to the initiative’s guiding principles:

  • Customers first – providing the flexibility and freedom to choose by ensuring a seamlessly integrated AV experience across different brands and platforms.
  • Open APIs – developing and maintaining read-write open APIs that enable true cross-platform compatibility.
  • Data access – allowing customers to access and export their own data.
  • Security & privacy – ensuring all customer data follows security and data protection best practices.
  • Industry-wide inclusion – being open to all AV stakeholders who adopt these principles, fostering collaboration over exclusivity.

With Megapixel’s participation, the initiative gains a partner with deep experience powering ambitious and unconventional canvases worldwide, helping ensure that the future of AV interoperability reflects the full spectrum of use cases, from displays and projection to advanced LED.
