Digital Art Meets Architectural Surfaces Ventana by Megapixel Debuts in the Middle East at Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai through the work of digital artists Ryan Koopmans and Alice Livijn Wexell

November 7, 2025, Dubai, UAE For lens-based artist Ryan Koopmans’ upcoming exhibition The Wild Within with digital artist Alice Livijn Wexell at Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai a series of digital artworks breathe new life into abandoned buildings from a distant past. These include old structures in Beirut, Lebanon; Istanbul, Turkey and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. A unique facet of the works on display is the use of Ventana, a microLED architectural display surface created by Megapixel, to display two of the largest works, Heartbeats and The Wish. The former artwork is set in the grand entrance hall of Qasr Al Watan, the UAE’s Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, while the latter, which reimagines the exclusive upper floors of the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental also in Abu Dhabi.

Koopmans, known for his lens-based art that captures surreal structures within megacities and urban landscapes, is collaborating with Megapixel, to use Ventana tiles to enhance the display of work he created with Wexell.
